GPS Software Leader Offers Blackberry Customers Access to Powerful Online Navigator Resource and Mapping Solution
TORONTO, Canada – GPS software manufacturer Northport Systems, Inc., has announced today that Fugawi Touratel topographic mapping software for the USA and Canada is now available for Blackberry® handsets. Designed to enhance outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, fishing, hunting and more, the Touratel software will provide Blackberry customers with convenient and highly detailed outdoor mapping.

Fugawi Touratel utilizes the Blackberry’s internal GPS receiver eliminating the need for the added cost of specific-use Bluetooth connected GPS receiver. Due to its unique Web 2.0 architecture, users do not need to download and install the software – the entire Fugawi Touratel application works through the smartphone’s internet connection. Blackberry users will have access to Fugawi Touratel’s high-resolution US and Canadian topographic maps, sourced directly from the US Geological Survey and Natural Resources Canada, respectively. Blackberry customers will benefit from added map content and ongoing product development instantaneously, without the need to download updates, apply patches or purchase additional hardware components.
Fugawi Touratel runs on the Where platform developed by uLocate. Fugawi Touratel is currently a free application for use with the Blackberry 8800, Curve and Pearl.
