Haringey Council, UK, selects eSpatial’s iSMART for Local Government Solution Framework for new Corporate Web GIS

August 19, 2008 Dublin, Ireland - eSpatial, a global enterprise geospatial software and technology company today announced that it has been selected by Haringey Council, UK, to deliver a Corporate Web GIS (Geographical Information System) built on eSpatial’s iSMART for Local Government Solution Framework.
eSpatial will provide Haringey with a system based on its award winning iSMART® technology and specifically based on the iSMART for Local Government Solution Framework. This is a packaged version of iSMART tailored to the needs of UK Local Government customers who wish to deliver a central Oracle based Spatial repository and associated Intranet and Internet mapping systems.
eSpatial’s corporate Web GIS will enable the delivery of location information internally throughout the council, as well as to the general public, delivering increased internal efficiency and online public service delivery; therefore helping meet the demands of Transformational Government. The solution will provide internal departments with web-based access to a spatial analysis environment to support location dependant decisions. The applications delivered will integrate with existing business applications used throughout the council, seamlessly placing spatial within Haringey’s internal workflows.
Central to the solution are the Open Standards of Oracle SDO, OGC, GML and Java supporting both existing and future applications. The solution will deliver GIS functionality across all council systems via a number of channels including legacy GIS applications.
