Denver, Colorado; August 6 2008: Exor Corporation is pleased to announce the selection by British Columbia Ministry of Transportation of Exor, the leading supplier of infrastructure asset management solutions, to upgrade and enhance its roadway inventory asset management program.

British Columbia undertook an intensive market review in order to replace its existing asset inventory system. The Exor solution will replace its legacy system and enhance its capabilities by incorporating state of the art field data collection technology, introduce web based reporting and include the ability for British Columbia to synchronize to the provincial Digital Road Atlas (DRA).

Linking to the DRA provides a single and common map for all provincial government agencies, with a shared data update procedure that creates a more accurate map for use by those agencies.

Exor has formed a strategic alliance with British Columbia and its subcontractors, TC Technology, Vivid Solutions and ESRI, on the one million dollar project that includes a new field data collection module, due to be in full use for the end of the 2008 summer field collection period.

The new field survey application will significantly improve the efficiency and accuracy of the data collection by enabling British Columbia district office staff and contractors to collect multiple inventory items simultaneously whilst driving along the highway.  Asset locations will be established using measures from Distance Measuring Instruments and global navigation satellite systems in the survey vehicles.

Dwayne Mills, North American General Manager for Exor adds; “Our International experience will clearly come into play on this project as we can build on our expertise from projects such as Transport for London and Main Roads Western Australia. Effective network management is a common business need throughout the world.

“British Columbia will need to reference and collect data in a multitude of ways ranging from machine collected road data to manual network reclassification. The Exor solution will unify and simplify British Columbia’s ability to produce location based accuracy using GPS technology, improved access and user participation, web based services and improved performance management. It will improve their ability to deliver improved services to all interested parties and stakeholders.”
