The accompanying overview map produced by GfK GeoMarketing illustrates the winners of the European Football Championships since 1960. Greece is the current European Champion.

With championship titles from 1972, 1980 and 1996 to its credit, Germany is top of the list. France has two titles to its name – 1984 and 2000. Of the 23 nations that have earned a place in the finals since 1960, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia and Spain have each secured one title.
