Seminar Series Shows Law Enforcement Professionals How GIS Supports Intelligence-Led Policing
Executives Will Learn How to Gain the Geographic Advantage
Redlands, California—ESRI invites law enforcement executives and decision makers to attend a free geographic information system (GIS) law enforcement seminar in their area. At each seminar offered throughout the United States, GIS technology will be explored from the law enforcement perspective, giving participants a chance to see the problem-solving capabilities of GIS in their line of work.
Professionals in fields ranging from law enforcement and community corrections to investigations and information technology are encouraged to join ESRI for this informative gathering. Attendees will see firsthand how GIS solutions can be integrated agency-wide, enhancing a department’s operations with powerful tools and workflows as well as strategic and tactical approaches. The seminar is also an opportunity to pose questions to the experts and network with colleagues.
“This seminar will demonstrate to the law enforcement audience what GIS can do for them operationally,” says Lew Nelson, ESRI law enforcement industry solutions manager and a retired chief of police. “Attendees will see exactly how GIS identifies issues, supports decision making, and assists in solving problems. From information accuracy and operational effectiveness to situational awareness and officer safety, we understand the issues law enforcement agencies are facing today, and we will show them just how central GIS is in supporting their daily—as well as specialized—operations.”
ESRI staff will also discuss how GIS is being used nationwide to.
Provide a faster, safer, more informed response.
Fuse disparate data to identify emerging problems or threats.
Enhance decision making and situational awareness for proactive policing.
Help allocate resources to place the right people in the right place at the right time.
Identify critical areas to develop long-term prevention and mitigation plans.
