GOLDSBORO, N.C. – Geographic Technologies Group, Inc. (GTG) announces the recent addition of Laurie Jackson, GIS Project Manager, to their North Carolina corporate office.

Laurie brings over 20 years of project management experience and over seven years of GIS experience, including five years with the City of Winfield, Kansas and two years in the GIS Spatial Analysis Lab at Kansas State University.  GTG’s emphasis on the client relationship and providing services for much needed GIS data drew her to the position.

The tragedy of Hurricane Katrina, as well as local tornadoes and floods in areas of Kansas where no GIS system existed, made Laurie realize the need for GIS at all levels of government.  Because GTG focuses on those needs, Laurie felt it was a natural fit for her to take what she had learned in city government and apply it to helping communities throughout the United States.

“My experience with infrastructure GIS and utilities allows me to connect with GTG clients on a different level than just a GIS project manager,” said Laurie. “I have been in government and understand the budget and personnel constraints while, at the same time, seeing the need for GIS.  I am looking forward to getting to know our clients and providing them with the best possible solutions.”

“Having Laurie on board presents an excellent opportunity for GTG to provide services to our current and future clients that are second to none,” said Curt Hinton, CEO of GTG.  “Laurie’s project management and interpersonal skills, as well as her passion for GIS, are unmatched.  We are excited to see what the future holds with her as a part of the GTG team.”
