Cadcorp signs German/Austrian business partner agreement with gisME

Company will develop GIS applications for local government, utilities and real estate companies using Cadcorp SIS.

Stevenage, Herts. 26 June, 2007. Digital mapping and geographic information systems (GIS) software developer Cadcorp has announced the recent signing of a business partner agreement with gisME, of Haltern am

See, Germany. The agreement sees gisME adopting Cadcorp SIS – Spatial Information System as the basis for its new GIS applications for the local government, utility services and real estate sectors in Germany and

Austria.

Hartwig Treckmann, managing director, gisME, stated, “Its compliance with the Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc. (OGC) interface specifications, plus the wide range of GIS, CAD, graphic and database data formats supported by the Cadcorp SIS product family, were important factors in our decision to seek a formal business relationship with Cadcorp”. “In

Germany, customers have many data formats to cope with”, he explained. “So we were looking for a product that can handle different formats as standard, without the need for additional-cost middleware. With this capability, and using the Cadcorp SIS Software Development Kit, we are able to develop powerful and fast GIS applications that are focused entirely on our customers’ needs and which, importantly, can interact with many other information systems.”

The main application areas for gisME include the documentation and management of cemeteries, open green spaces and trees, as well as highways/roads maintenance and mobile data capture. Interfaces to financial and other applications enable statistics to be generated directly from the GIS, and for maintenance and refurbishment costs etc. to be calculated.

“We are delighted to welcome gisME into the expanding Cadcorp business partner community,” said Mike O’Neil, managing director Cadcorp. “We are confident that the combination of gisME’s experience and expertise and Cadcorp’s GIS products and technical support will result in a successful relationship and satisfied gisME customers.”
