Lansing, June 4, 2007 – IDV Solutions today released a new product within their Visual Fusion SuiteTM software, titled Visual Fusion Tile Server (VFTS), offering new functionality and capabilities for web-based mapping.  Combined with the Microsoft technology stack, Visual Fusion Tile Server is another important part of the Visual Fusion Suite to offer a comprehensive visual composite application platform.

Visual Fusion Tile Server takes advantage of advances in map tiling and caching, providing a way for organizations to serve up imagery and other web mapping services (WMS) with greater speed and performance.  VFTS serves up map tiles compatible with Virtual Earth 2D and 3D map controls, and also caches the tiles, enabling map access while offline or in a disconnected environment. In addition, using the Virtual Earth 3D control Visual Fusion Tile Server tiles can be draped in 3D to produce stunning visuals of enterprise data.

“Visual Fusion Tile Server enables enterprises to capitalize on their existing imagery and WMS and serve them up in a way that’s an order of magnitude greater in performance than existing solutions,” said Ian Clemens, Chief Technology Officer for IDV Solutions.
