GIS Development felicitates Ordnance Survey

3 May 2007, NOIDA, India: GIS Development, a leading communication network organisation working towards

GIS Development Award to Ordnance Survey, United Kingdom’s national mapping agency for being a Role
Model for National Mapping Organisations Worldwide. The award was presented during the opening day of
Map Middle East 2007 at Dubai, UAE by Eng. Hussain Lootha. Director General of Dubai Municipality. Dr.
Vanessa Lawrence, Director General and Chief Executive Officer of Ordnance Survey accepted the award on
its behalf.
As a recognised leading National Mapping Agency, Ordnance Survey has been providing accurate, reliable and
detailed geographic data for more than 200 years. Today it is a dynamic, modern organisation, employing
1,490 people. It has invested in the latest technologies which enables them to update their maps on a
continuous basis and provide the most accurate and up to date maps to their clients. They have a vast range
of private and public-sector services, including central and local government, insurance, mobile location
services, land and property, retail, housing, transport, utilities and the emergency services.
Mr. Sanjay Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of GIS Development expressed his compliments to Ordnance Survey
