HM Treasury Announced as Day Two Keynote Speaker at Exor Worldwide Conference

Wednesday, 04 April 2007: Exor Corporation today confirmed David Watkins, Head of the Financial Reporting Policy Team at the HM Treasury, as day two keynote speaker for the Exor 2007 Worldwide Conference.   

Watkins will examine the importance of asset valuation to the HM Treasury specifically relating to his work with the Highways Agency and helping develop the Valuation Information Paper 10 (The cost approach for financial reporting – better know as depreciated replacement costs) for the Royal Institute of Charted Surveyors.  

During his address he will also discuss at length the work HM Treasury is undertaking with the Department of Transport on Local Authority Infrastructure asset valuation & his work with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA). He will also touch upon the major themes arising from day one and place these into a Treasury context.

Watkins joined the Treasury in January 2000 bringing with him extensive experience from the National Audit Office – including a short spell as manager of the audit of the Highways Agency.  He is now the Head of the Financial Reporting Policy team, responsible for developing accounting standards for the central government sector, advising government entities on the application of those standards and monitoring compliance with them.
