Population Germany 2007
Germany currently has approximately 82.4 million inhabitants. The Ruhr basin (Western Germany, Cologne area) is the most densely populated area in Germany: with 18 million inhabitants, the federal state of North-Rhine Westphalia is the most populous of the 16 federal states in Germany.
GfK GeoMarketing has created a map of Germany which depicts the population density: The higher the elevation and the darker the red, the higher the population density in that municipality. This 3D prism analysis was generated with RegioGraph 10, GfK GeoMarketing’s software for displaying and analyzing company and market data on various regional levels.
GfK GeoMarketing also provides Europe-wide market data for this type of analysis. E.g. the population numbers in this example are also contained in the GfK Purchasing Power Europe published by GfK GeoMarketing.
