MINNEAPOLIS, MN - East View Cartographic (EVC) today announced the creation of a 1:50,000 scale background map in CADRG format over the whole of the Middle East for Geo Tech Consulting – TURKEY. This project highlights EVC’s unique combination of expertise in milspec GIS formats and unparalleled acquisition capabilities. Over 3,000 topographic map sheets were scanned and formatted after procurement from local and Russian sources.
According to EVC Geospatial Director, Nick Nazarenko “East View is one of the few commercial companies to support the CADRG and ADRG formats, the primary map background file formats used in most automated command and control systems. We can use our 15 terabytes of in-stock raster maps to create a seamless map over almost any area of the world.” EVC is a leading source of geospatial data and large-scale maps from Africa, Central Asia, Middle East, and other parts of the world.
CADRG is a compressed version of ADRG (ARC Digitized Raster Graphics). Both formats support various digital moving map systems, mission planning, and C3I theater battle management. CADRG is a Raster Product Format and National Imagery Transmission Format Standard (NITFS)-compliant. EVC also creates vector data that is compliant with all existing military standards including VMAP2, FFD and UVMAP.
