eSpatial Announces Availability of New Version of Flagship Product: iSMART®

GITA Annual30, Texas, 6th March 2007, Stand #122, eSpatial, a global enterprise geospatial software and technology company today announced the launch of the latest version of its leading Geospatial iSMART® product suite, iSMART 5.2Based extensively on customer demand, iSMART 5.2 provides exciting new features including enhancements to the iSMART GeoPortal and increased use of Web 2.0 technologies with significant AJAX-based user interface and interaction improvements. The new user interface components for web application developers include drag pan and enhanced sample applications have been added with full documentation making it easy to deliver iSMART-based solutions which can work standalone or can be integrated with existing traditional applications. iSMART 5.2 provides even deeper support for Oracle functionality, including Support for 10g GeoRaster GRID data and Integrated Support for Oracle WorkSpace manager within iSMART Maps enabling multiple versions of data-sets to be viewed and/or edited by users. A key feature is the option for iSMART Editor to directly connect to Oracle databases (along with existing options of connecting to iSMART Server, or use offline with synchronisation of changes to database). The need to rapidly print high quality maps is becoming increasingly important. iSMART 5.2 has incorporated a new printing engine, creating SVG and embedding in PDF output to print to scale on large page-size high-resolution printers and plotters, over the web.iSMART 5.2 supports the BEA WebLogic® platform. The WebLogic Product Family provides a rock-solid foundation for building, integrating, presenting, and running enterprise applications and SOA services. These capabilities, coupled with eSpatial’s iSMART GeoPortal and development environment enable customers to deploy innovative new Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and services within a single framework. iSMART 5.2 also adds support for Solaris 10 and Redhat Enterprise Linux AS 4 positioning iSMART as a pioneering technology in the delivery of real-world spatial intelligence to the general business user.Considerable performance improvements have also been incorporated into 5.2 including enhanced iSMART Editor features (included for our clients in the utilities markets, including multi-polygon editing) as well as filtered layers / split layers, multi-line labels, leader lines, “proxy authentication” to database and enhanced map styling capabilities.
